Alia Mai is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) and a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) with extensive experience in working with anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship struggles, sexual assault and trauma, disordered eating, self-harm, family and social issues related to race, culture, religion, and identity.
She is also CVAP approved.
Alia is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Radical Acceptance, Gottman Therapeutic Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapies, and Narrative Therapy. She obtained her Masters of Clinical Social Work from the University of Toronto in 2014 and has been practicing for over a decade.
Her practice is trauma-informed, client-centered, and incorporates an anti-oppressive framework. Alia adopts a direct and engaging approach in her sessions, creating a safe and trusting space for open dialogue. Through direct communication, she empowers individuals to confront challenges and work towards positive change. Alia looks forward to the opportunity to support individuals on their journey towards healing and personal growth.
